Brazilian songwriter and vocalist Kristine Mills is at it again, her follow up to Bossanovafied released in 2009 is finally here, and appropriately titled BOSSAtoo, the press sheet explains, "as in also vs. the number two."  So what has Ms. Mills been up to since 2014; well - winning awards for her songwriting in other genres and continuing to perform from Houston to New York and beyond.  

BOSSAtoo offers a stellar line up of; Klaus Mueller; Itaiguara Brandão; Porthino; Rafael Barata.   Mills has an authentic sense of Brazilian rhythm, and a fine knack for penning engaging lyrics, this rounded out by Mills organic and non-affected vocal style is a true selling point to BOSSAtoo.  The predominate of tracks though original, are adorned by a couple of well-chosen covers, “It’s Probably Me,” (Sting), arranged smartly by Mills and what bossa album would not be complete without a Jobim rendering, which Mills astutely chose “Inutil Paisagem/Useless Landscape” a not overly covered Jobim masterpiece.  BOSSAtoo is a wonderful welcome for the Brazilian aficionado, but also as a wonderful soundscape to any gathering where sophistication and style is on the menu.  Well done Ms. Mills, well done.
